As a child growing up in East Africa, I would hear my mother make comments about her vision and how she could not see clearly.

See, my beloved Maman was born with perfect eyesight but along the way she lost her sight due to lack of proper care. It was not until one night when I had a dream where I was blind and could not see. Through that vision, everything became clear to me. When I woke up, I knew what I must do. The story in my dream outlined the painful experience my mother has lived with for decades. Thus, I was inspired by her adversity to create products that makes a difference in people's lives while giving back.
